John Spirou,
Council President
John Spirou is serving his first term as Council President. He previously held the role of Vice-President and has been actively involved with the College of Physiotherapists since 2004.
John believes that physiotherapists play an important and vital role in our health system and that collaborating with other professions will only serve to improve the quality of care Ontarians receive. He is committed to assuring Ontarians receive exceptional physiotherapy care.

Shenda Tanchak,
Registrar & CEO
Shenda Tanchak became Registrar and CEO of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
in June 2012. Shenda received her LLB from the University of Toronto and was called to the bar in 1992. She has more than 18 years of experience working in the health regulatory community, and joined the College from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario where she most recently served as Senior Advisor to the Executive Office.
Known throughout the regulatory community as a compelling speaker, educator and thought leader, Shenda demonstrates the complete range of skills required to ensure the College continues to deliver on its mission, vision and strategic goals.
