Carol HochuCarol Hochu joined Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES) in 2008 as its first Executive Director, to lead the implementation of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Program. OES is a not-for-profit industry organization that oversees the safe and responsible reuse and recycling of waste electronics through a vast network of approved collection sites across the province. With more than 20 years' experience and leadership in the not-for-profit sector, Carol previously served as the Chief Staff Executive of two trade associations; Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel and Confectionery Manufacturers Association of Canada. In June 2005, she received the honour of being named as a volunteer member of the multi-stakeholder Ontario Biodiversity Council established by the Ministry of National Resources, and served for three years contributing her expertise to help guide the implementation of Ontario's Biodiversity Strategy. In February 2004, the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing established the Greenbelt Task Force. Carol had the distinguished privilege of being appointed to that 13-member Task Force that advised the government on a clear approach for protecting greenspace in the Greater Golden Horseshoe. A respected and knowledgeable advocate for the environment, Carol is a distinguished industry speaker. Listed in Who's Who of Canadian Women and Women in the Lead, Carol is a Certified Association Executive, and holds an MBA from Schulich School of Business at York University, and a BASc from the University of Guelph. |
Howard Morrison, CMAHoward Morrison is the Director of Finance for Ontario Electronic Stewardship ("OES"). He is responsible for financial operations, and information technology. He also consults on OES's finance audit and risk management (FARM) committee. Prior to joining OES in September, 2010, Howard held a senior position managing finance, HR and facilities for Intelligent Creatures, a privately held company specializing in digital effects for feature films. Before that, he served 20 years for Toshiba Canada, including his last appointment in 2007 to VP, Operations for both its Office Products and Toshiba Business Solutions groups, and prior to that was named Chief Financial Officer for Toshiba Business Solutions in 2000, where his responsibilities also included HR and IT. Howard brings more than 25 years' experience in the high tech industry in various financial (M&A, cash management, reporting, budgeting and forecasting, tax, audits, receivables/collection, payables), as well operational management (customer service, equipment billing, service contract management, IT and HR) positions. A respected business leader, Howard is a Certified Management Accountant, and holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo. |
Sandra PakoshSandra Pakosh joined Ontario Electronic Stewardship as its Director, Marketing and Communications in September, 2010, and is responsible for promotion and education to business and consumer audiences, as well as stakeholder communications, and influencer marketing. She also consults on OES's communications committee. Prior to OES, she was a senior manager for Hewlett-Packard Canada where she helped build the HP brand in Canada, and lead enterprise marketing and communications. Sandra joined HP in 2001 with Compaq, and held various positions in her 10-year tenure. She was central to the integration planning of the HP-Compaq merger, leading the external communications launch plan for the new HP in Canada. Before HP, Sandra spent 10 years specializing in marketing communications in client-agency roles supporting EDS, Systemhouse and ComputerLand, as well as Innovators Alliance, a not-for-profit CEO network of high growth entrepreneurs who foster profitable growth through innovation. Sandra has certification as a social media strategist and LEED Core Concepts & Strategies. She is an active member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), and is a guest lecturer on brand, demand generation marketing and ROMI. Sandra is an alumnus of executive development studies at Richard Ivey School of Business, London, Ontario. |
