Title : PSAB Webcast: Characteristics of Public Sector Entities

Date : September 20th, 2011

Time: 12:30 PM ET

The Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) is in the process of reviewing the concepts underlying financial performance in its conceptual framework set out in the Public Sector Accounting (PSA) Handbook.

Consultation Paper 1, "Characteristics of Public Sector Entities", was issued by PSAB's Conceptual Framework Task Force (CFTF) in August 2011.  The key characteristics set out the environment within which a public sector entity operates and have the potential to affect the nature of what is reported in financial statements.  Input on the characteristics and their accounting and reporting implications is requested by October 15, 2011.

Martha Jones Denning is the PSAB Principal working with the CFTF on the review of the framework. In this webcast, she will review Consultation Paper 1, explaining how the CFTF went about drafting the paper and its expectations for next steps.
