Title : Potentially dramatic changes on the horizon for Audit Reports in Canada: Have your say!
Date : September 4th, 2012
Time: 12:00 PM ET
NOTE: THIS WEBINAR BEGINS AT 12 NOON AND ENDS AT 1:30 P.M.
The auditor's report in Canada is facing some potentially dramatic changes since the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) recently issued for comment its Invitation to Comment (ITC), "Improving the Auditor's Report." The input the IAASB receives will be used as a basis for revising International Standard on Auditing (ISA) 700, Forming an Opinion and Reporting on Financial Statements.
Canada's Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AASB) adopts all ISAs issued by the IAASB with limited, if any, amendments. As a result, suggested improvements included in the IAASB's ITC will likely lead to changes to Canadian standards that affect auditor's reports on the financial statements of entities of all sizes and in both the public and private sectors. The webinar will therefore be of interest to preparers, auditors, audit committees, investors, analysts and other users of financial statements.
Attend this webinar to:
- Understand the impact the IAASB suggested improvements may have on your business or organization
- Share your views on the IAASB suggested improvements with the AASB (input received will be considered for the AASB's response to the ITC)
A summary of the IAASB's ITC, including an illustrative report, and a list of webinar polling questions will be available for advance reading under the ‘Resources' tab. The IAASB's suggested improvements will be discussed by extensive reference to the illustrative report in the IAASB's ITC.
This webinar features the following speakers:
- Greg Shields, CA, Director, Auditing and Assurance Standards at the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA)
- Eric Turner, CA, Principal, Auditing and Assurance Standards at the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA)
Review the IAASB's ITC before the webinar.
*Please note that this webinar is one and half hours in duration and will end at 1:30 PM ET*
