Gerald D. Trites, FCA, CISA
Jerry has acted as coordinating judge for the Electronic Reporting section of the Corporate Reporting Awards since its inception. He is also Project Director of XBRL Canada on behalf of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). Currently, Jerry works independently as an IT consultant and researcher. He has written fourteen research studies and other books and booklets, on topics like The Impact of Technology on Financial Reporting, e-Business, Accounting Information Systems, XBRL, Assurance for Small and Medium Business and, the most recent, Data Level Assurance. Jerry has also done work for XBRL International (XII). He is currently serving on the XBRL International Assurance Committee and previously acted as principal author for the publication “INTERACTIVE DATA: THE IMPACT ON ASSURANCE”, published by XII in November, 2006. Prior to his current activities, Jerry was a tenured full professor at St Francis Xavier University, in Nova Scotia (1996 – 2006), where he served as Director of the Gerald Schwartz School of Business and Information Systems (2001 – 2002) and Chair of the Department of Information Systems, 2002 – 2003. Before entering academe, Jerry was a partner with KPMG in Halifax, Nova Scotia (1974 – 1996), where he served as a member of the firm’s National Standards Committee, Partner in Charge of Professional Practice, Atlantic Region. (1979 – 1996) and as an IT Consultant and client service partner.
 
  Tim Herrod
Tim Herrod was previously the Manager of Investor Relations at Potash Corporation (he is currently the company's Director of Treasury). Working with the company's Chief Executive Officer and executive team, Tim developed and executed strategies for investor communication and shareholder engagement. He also developed strategies and content for print and online annual reports. Recently, he led the strategic development of the company's investor relations website, which has garnered significant recognition from the global investment community, including the Award of Excellence in the Electronic Disclosure category at the CICA Corporate Reporting Awards in 2010.
