Lyle Clarke, VP Innovation & Blue Box
As the Vice President of Innovation and the Blue Box Program, Lyle is consistently analyzing business intelligence and researching market development for materials that lack processing technologies, developments in supply chains and new commodity markets. Lyle also works closely with Ontario municipalities to improve recycling performance and contain costs, ensuring that Ontario's Blue Box Program continues to enable stewards to fulfill their recycling obligations at fee rates that compare favourably with producer responsibility programs elsewhere in Canada and around the world.

Before joining Stewardship Ontario's staff in 2009, Lyle already had a well-developed understanding of the province's waste reduction and diversion strategy and challenges. As a founding member of Stewardship Ontario's Board of Directors from 2002 until 2009, Lyle helped launch both the Blue Box and Municipal Hazardous and Special Waste (MHSW) Programs.

Prior to his appointment at Stewardship Ontario, Lyle led the corporate policy team at the LCBO, one of the largest specialty retailers of wine, spirits and beer in the world. Among his many other responsibilities, Lyle spearheaded the retailer's environmental strategy, helping eliminate 10 million kilograms of packaging waste per year a full two years ahead of schedule. Lyle also served as a director of Waste Diversion Ontario, the agency responsible for developing, monitoring and implementing Ontario's waste diversion programs.
