Ian P. N. Hague, CA
Ian is a Principal with the Accounting Standards Board (AcSB) in Toronto. He is Chair of the AcSB IFRS Advisory Committee and is leading the AcSB’s implementation of IFRS for Canadian publicly accountable enterprises. He is also working on amendments to accounting standards related to the current economic environment. For many years he has been responsible for supporting the AcSB’s liaison with the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). He has also been a member of the project team to develop a globally converged conceptual framework for financial reporting. Previously, he developed Canadian standards for recognition and measurement of financial instruments, based on those of the IASB and FASB. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the American Accounting Association’s International Accounting Section. Prior to joining the AcSB staff, Ian was with Deloitte in Toronto and in London, England. He is qualified as a Chartered Accountant in both Canada and in England & Wales.
 
  GORDON C. FOWLER, FCA
Gordon is Vice Chair of the Accounting Standards Board (“AcSB”) of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (“CICA”). Prior to joining the AcSB, Gordon was an active member of the Emerging Issues Committee (“EIC”) of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (“CICA”). Gordon C. Fowler is currently a partner in the National Office of KPMG LLP, serving as the National Partner-in-Charge, Accounting Standards in KPMG's Department of National Assurance and Professional Practice (“NAPP”). In this role, Gordon focuses on significant accounting and securities practice issues facing the Firm's clients, including major public company clients. He is also a Securities Reviewing Partner and an SEC Filing Reviewing Partner. Gordon is also a member of the KPMG International IFRS Panel, which is the body responsible for the formulation of the worldwide policies of KPMG International in respect of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and all matters in relation to the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).
 
  Carla-Marie Hait, Chief Accountant, B.C. Securities Commission
As Chief Accountant of the B.C. Securities Commission, Carla-Marie provides accounting advisory services to all Divisions of the Commission. She participates in the development of legislation and policy. Recent projects include new national rules and guidance for forward looking information and CEO and CFO certifications. Currently she is working on a CSA project to assess the need for, and develop changes to securities legislation necessitated by the changeover to IFRS in Canada. Carla-Marie also reviews financial reporting issues that arise in issuers' filings for public offerings and continuous disclosure. She liaises with professional accounting bodies and communicates with issuers and their advisors in matters related to financial reporting requirements. Prior to assuming her current position at the B.C. Securities Commission, Carla-Marie worked at KPMG in their Vancouver and Ottawa offices. She has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of British Columbia and is a chartered accountant.
