PETER MARTIN, CA Director, Accounting Standards
Peter Martin heads up the Accounting Standards Board’s staff and is responsible for organizing staff support to the Board and its associated working groups on standard-setting projects and other Board activities. He was previously involved with a number of CICA Handbook standards as a project manager as well as serving as the secretary and Board observer on the Emerging Issues Committee. Peter most recently worked on developing and implementing the AcSB’s newly approved strategic plan. Prior to joining the Accounting Standards Board staff in 1990, he worked in Vancouver and Toronto for Clarkson Gordon (now Ernst & Young) and Placer Dome Inc., an international public mining company.
 
  Gordon Fowler, FCA Vice Chair, Accounting Standards Board
Gordon Fowler is Vice Chair of the Accounting Standards Board. He is also a partner in the National Office of KPMG LLP, serving as a Partner in KPMG's Department of National Assurance and Professional Practice. In this role, he focuses on significant accounting and securities practice issues facing the firm's clients, including major public company clients. Gordon is a member of the KPMG International IFRS Panel and is also Co-Chair of the Securities Regulations Advisory Group and was Chair of the Accounting Standards Board’s Foreign Currency Translation Task Force.
 
  Patricia O'Malley, FCA
Tricia O'Malley was appointed Chair of the Accounting Standards Board in 2009. She previously served as the first full-time Chair of the AcSB from 1999-2001. Tricia left the AcSB to become a founding member of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) in London, UK and served on the IASB for six years. She also served as the Director of Implementation Activities on the IASB's staff. Before joining the AcSB in 1999, Tricia was a partner in the National Assurance and Professional Practice Group of KPMG Canada where she consulted with partners and staff on complex client accounting issues, with particular emphasis on financial instruments and structured finance transactions.
