Event Title: The New Canada Consumer Product Safety Act:
Are You Ready?
Event Date: June 16th, 2011
Time: 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. (EDT)

Event Details:

On June 20, 2011 the new Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) will take effect. The CCPSA creates new, and in some cases onerous, obligations for manufacturers, importers, and distributors of consumer goods in Canada. This new Act will radically alter the landscape of consumer product regulation in Canada.

Join our panel of leading experts as they examine and clarify the most critical obligations under the new CCPSA.

Highlights will include:

  • an overview of the CCPSA and the new obligations it places on your business
  • the new government powers of investigation and recall
  • how privacy and confidential information is treated
  • concerns for Quebec consumers
  • the U.S. experience with similar legislation

This presentation will be available either live in Toronto (followed by a cocktail reception) or via webinar.
Attendance is complimentary, however, registration is required.

To participate in this seminar, please register before June 10, 2011.

This program will count for one hour toward the annual mandatory Continuing Professional Development requirement of the Law Society of Upper Canada. It will not count toward the Professionalism or New Member requirements.
