  • Chris is the Gowlings National Practice Group Leader - Employment and Labour Law. He focuses his practice in the area of employment law and represents employers in all aspects of their relationships with their employees. Chris is client-focused with a reputation for providing timely, cost-effective and exceptional service. His clients receive sophisticated, strategic and pro-active advice with an emphasis on practical solutions.

Speakers:

  • David is a partner in Gowlings' Calgary office practising in the areas of labour and employment law, education law and human rights. He has experience in both the federal and provincial areas of jurisdiction and represents client groups across many industries. David has advised and represented the management team in collective bargaining and labour disputes and has acted as counsel and the management nominee on a number of labour arbitrations. He has appeared before the Canada Industrial Relations Board and the Alberta Labour Relations Board.

  • Luc is the leader of the Employment and Labour group in Montréal. He has, among other activities, acted for employers in collective and individual labour relations and occasionally for managers in dismissal matters. Throughout his practice Luc has acted before all judicial and administrative tribunals interested in labour matters in the province of Québec. Over the years, he has advised employers whose main activities are based in Québec, but also in Canada and abroad, as part of mergers or transfer matters.

  • Bill is the leader of the Gowlings Immigration National Practice Group. His practice emphasizes all aspects of corporate immigration and the cross-border movement of personnel. Bill also provides employment law advice in relation to hiring and employing foreign nationals in Canada. He regularly assists employers with international transfers; obtaining work permits including applications under NAFTA; obtaining Labour Market Opinions (LMOs) from Service Canada; and obtaining immigration documentation for accompanying family members of foreign national recruits.
